Learn Tourism and VisitAble Join Forces to Promote Inclusive, Accessible Tourism
A strategic partnership to help every destination welcome every traveler
At Learn Tourism, we believe that every traveler deserves to feel welcome and that true hospitality leaves no one behind. That’s why we’re proud to announce a new partnership with VisitAble, a fellow mission-driven organization that provides disability inclusion training and accessibility consulting for the travel and tourism industry.
Together, we are launching a joint initiative to strengthen accessibility awareness, promote inclusive practices, and create practical learning tools for tourism professionals worldwide.
A Shared Commitment to Equity and Inclusion
VisitAble’s work centers around improving access to public spaces, events, and travel experiences for people with disabilities. Like Learn Tourism, they believe education is the foundation of change.
This partnership is built on a shared goal: to equip tourism workers, managers, and destination leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to create welcoming, accessible environments for all visitors, including those with disabilities, chronic conditions, or mobility challenges.
What This Partnership Includes
The collaboration between Learn Tourism and VisitAble will kick off with a series of co-developed initiatives, including:
- A self-assessment tool to help learners evaluate their accessibility readiness and identify training needs
- A co-hosted webinar featuring VisitAble’s expertise in disability inclusion and accessibility best practices
- Opportunities for shared storytelling, resources, and training content delivered through the Learn Tourism platform
- Ongoing conversations about licensing, co-branding, and long-term accessibility education strategies
We’ll be collecting feedback from participants to inform future programming and continue shaping tools that make an impact.
Why It Matters
An estimated 1.3 billion people globally live with a disability, and yet accessibility remains a major barrier in many parts of the travel and tourism industry. From ticketing to signage to customer service, every interaction matters, and small changes can make a big difference.
By combining Learn Tourism’s training reach and VisitAble’s expertise, we aim to inspire the industry to think beyond compliance and toward true inclusion.
This partnership is a bold step toward a tourism ecosystem where every traveler, everywhere, feels welcome, respected, and supported.
What’s Next
In the coming weeks, we’ll roll out the self-assessment tool and announce the date for the webinar. These resources will be available to all Learn Tourism partners and learners.
We encourage all DMOs, tourism professionals, and businesses to get involved and join the movement for accessible, inclusive tourism.
